Employment Connection’s mission is to ‘assist individuals with limited opportunities to self-sufficiency through employment’. Founded as a result of a study by the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis Young Lawyers (BAMSL). Employment Connection provides free employment services to persons who have difficulty finding and maintaining employment and to St. Louis area businesses who are seeking qualified job applicants.

Today, Gateway Homeless Services is the largest and most comprehensive emergency shelter in Missouri. It provides 150 beds and numerous social services to homeless women, children and families.
