Specific job duties include:
Ensure adherence with all employment laws, regulations and requirements through policy management, situation specific legal application and advice and compliance activities.
Conduct HR investigations in a confidential, ethical, and consistent manner to include gathering and analyzing facts, interviewing involved parties, applying relevant laws, policies and past practice to reach conclusions, and make recommendation to management
Create or modify HR policies as needed, ensure distribution and education of new and existing policies
Respond to questions, interpret and apply applicable laws and people policies and practices to provide advice, guidance, or clarification to associates and leaders
Maintain awareness of regulatory and employment law changes and the potential impact of these changes or current and future compliance requirements
Manage all legally required employment compliance tasks including, but not limited to, working with outsourced provider to create affirmative action plans, maintaining good faith efforts book, filing EEO-1 and Vets 100 reports annually, completing annual OSHA logs for posting in locations, responding to government inquiries, and ensuring site maintenance of all required labor posters
Provide high-level employee relations support services across the organization; act as a key HR point of contact, trusted advisor, and thought partner for business unit leaders
Advise leaders on complex human resource situations including FMLA, ADA accommodations and worker's compensation
Oversee compliance with I-9 requirements, perform audits, correct deficiencies
Manage external counsel for all active litigation, immigration filings or otherwise as needed.
Assist with preparation and delivery of regulatory examinations, government audits and internal audits, address findings, recommendations, and ensure timely resolution
Manage, track, and administer the corporate Workers' Compensation (WC) program, including managing claims, tracking reserve information, managing the Return to Work Program (RTW), and updating management regarding claim status; recommend appropriate action as needed
Create and implement leader and associate training programs as needed on employment law and compliance requirements to create an optimal associate experience
Manage or participate on special projects/programs requiring employment law or employee relations expertise, as needed
Requirements:
Broad HR Generalist knowledge and experience, minimum 5+ years of HR experience,2-3 years direct employee relations and employment compliance experience
Juris Doctorate
SPHR or PHR certification preferred
Ability to operate/advise in the "gray" areas. Adept understanding of client motivations and business pain points
Experience working in a high volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to make decisions guided by policies, practices, procedures and business plan
Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of multiple factors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams
Solid knowledge of laws, regulations and best practices related to Human Resources
Strong research, analysis, problem-solving, decision making skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Admission to the Bar of Arkansas or another state in which the company does a significant amount of business.
