This is an exciting time to join the Blue Buffalo family, as the company is on a journey to revolutionize relationships with Pet Parents. Our Joplin facility manufactures a variety of dry dog food and dog treats. The Pet segment is unique in the General Mills' portfolio because of the deep integration with the business and Supply Chain. As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for supporting all departments within general production. The HR Representative at Joplin Pet will have a mix of generalist, specialist and HR Business Partner responsibilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Act as the power user and point of contact in the payroll process regarding the input and support of Kronos entry and troubleshooting
  • Administer annual compensation changes, non-standard payments, and employee reward/incentive payments. Serve as a local subject matter expert for payroll processes.
  • Administer and lead FMLA, Disability and Leaves of Absence cases in partnership with the General Mills Disability Center. Serve as a local subject matter expert for leave processes.
  • Support new hire employee orientation enabling a great employee experience for new Buffs joining the HERD!
  • Support annual HR processes including Affirmative Action Planning, Benefits Open Enrollment, Data Validation, Engagement Survey Administration, and other initiatives.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and documentation in compliance with Global Internal Audit standards.
  • Provide day-to-day HR customer service to all plant employees, including researching and resolving questions or issues.
  • Manage and support employee separations, checklists, and unemployment claim administration.
  • Foster a strong working partnership with all functions to support plant objectives.
  • Maintain & track key talent metrics across all client group within location.
  • Create an environment where all employees are encouraged & developed to reach their full potential.
  • Provide leadership for HR process improvements.
  • Support change management initiatives, employee and community engagement efforts
  • Support other duties, plant, and function initiatives as needed.
  • Execute special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Proven experience in HR working with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental HR competencies
  • Strong positive employee relations skills.
  • Mature approach to challenging situations and environments.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects independently.
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change.
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to implement change and resolve conflict.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy
  • Sound analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology and ability to create solutions to technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft based applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access), and SharePoint; with a willingness to learn and master other software programs as needed.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills - ability to prepare and analyze HR reports, translate data into recommendations and take appropriate action to achieve desired business results.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or BA/BS Degree in (Business, Human Resources, Social Work, or other relevant areas)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Workday, Kronos, and/or SAP.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • This role is not remote eligible.
  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $54500.00 - $75100.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
