In the role of Senior Interior Designer, we'll count on you to:

  • Work closely with the Director of Sports & Recreation Architecture and the Project Principal of Sports & Recreation Architecture to develop business through:

o Support of premarketing efforts, attending industry events, actively engaging in the local design community, reviewing project pursuit strategies, and acting as a steward of the Sports & Recreation Architecture practice's mission and vision.

  • Be responsible for design in all phases of a project and demonstrate a master level knowledge of the interior design process from programming through construction administration.
  • Lead the interior design team on projects of any size or complexity, in addition to delegating to and supervising the work of others.
  • Support the growth of the Sports & Recreation Architecture practice with professional communication, presentation, and client management skills, along with the ability to clearly document and present design concepts to all project stakeholders and industry peers.
  • You must be a team player focused on collaboration with practice leadership, design leadership, and project leadership.

It is critical that the Senior Interior Designer be able to leverage technology to present and document their ideas. The ability to produce presentation materials and associated documentation is an important component of this position. Therefore, a strong working Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp/ Rhino (or similar), the Adobe Creative suite, and online whiteboard collaboration technologies such as Muro, Conceptboard, or Mural are required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant design firm environment
  • NCIDQ certificate holder
  • ID license in state where applicable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in sports related projects

The Sports and Recreation Architecture practice is launching from a foundation of heritage projects and trusted-advisor relationships. We'll require you to bring an entrepreneurial spirit our expanding practice. The complexity and excitement of the projects HDR pursues and delivers present design challenges. We'll need you to collaborate with a positive attitude as we deliver solutions for our clients and end users.
