Job Description
  1. Performing RT-dPCR analysis to quantify the levels of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) and its variants in the wastewater samples collected from Missouri facilities.
  2. Performing RT-dPCR analysis to quantify the levels of Influenza A and B, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Monkey pox and other pathogen targets on the CDC's National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS) panel in the wastewater samples collected from Missouri facilities.
  3. Performing ELISA analysis to quantify the levels of Ig Total, IgG and Neutralizing antibody against COVID in the wastewater samples collected from Missouri facilities.
  4. Working closely with PI, COPI, and scientists and health professionals at MO Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to report/process the findings/data of SARS-CoV-2 and the variants in sewage wastewater collected from 125 facilities cross the MO states, including wastewater treatment plants, meat processing plants, nursing homes, mental health centers, universities and correction facilities.

Monday - Friday

8am - 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field, with a background in academic research or laboratory work.
  2. Proficient pipetting skills, demonstrating accuracy and consistency in laboratory procedures.
  3. Capability to adhere to experiment protocols and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practice standards.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, executing assigned tasks in alignment with project goals.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.50 - $26.34 hourly. Salary is determined by a combination of education, skills, and experience.
