The School of Natural Resources
- Performing RT-dPCR analysis to quantify the levels of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) and its variants in the wastewater samples collected from Missouri facilities.
- Performing RT-dPCR analysis to quantify the levels of Influenza A and B, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Monkey pox and other pathogen targets on the CDC's National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS) panel in the wastewater samples collected from Missouri facilities.
- Performing ELISA analysis to quantify the levels of Ig Total, IgG and Neutralizing antibody against COVID in the wastewater samples collected from Missouri facilities.
- Working closely with PI, COPI, and scientists and health professionals at MO Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to report/process the findings/data of SARS-CoV-2 and the variants in sewage wastewater collected from 125 facilities cross the MO states, including wastewater treatment plants, meat processing plants, nursing homes, mental health centers, universities and correction facilities.

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field, with a background in academic research or laboratory work.
- Proficient pipetting skills, demonstrating accuracy and consistency in laboratory procedures.
- Capability to adhere to experiment protocols and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practice standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, executing assigned tasks in alignment with project goals.
Salary Range: $18.50 - $26.34 hourly. Salary is determined by a combination of education, skills, and experience.
