OPERATIONS MANAGER

OPEN SHOP

General Position Summary / Requirements:

Responsible for the successful oversight of all contract obligations and labor agreements at his/her assigned site(s), the development of talent in his/her organization, and ensuring assigned Site Managers are effectively executing all work in accordance with the duties described for Site Manager. Serves as the principal contact to the customer for higher level contract issues and strategic business development opportunities and ensures relationships with local labor officials are being managed effectively. Must be able to work remotely, with travel to sites primarily located in North Carolina and South Carolina areas, as required.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective strategic and senior customer relationships (including labor) to support the successful completion of the project or contract, while serving as strategic business partner with the ability to identify opportunities for value add and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Site Managers are effectively executing all work in accordance with the duties described, and facilitate Site Management in identifying customer processes and integrating them with D&Z project controls and planning processes to ensure the product/service provided meets contract obligations.
  • Identify and communicate additional opportunities for business development and continuous improvement.
  • Manage contract and financial obligations including cash management, estimates, budgets, financial controls and reporting.
  • Manage overall D&Z Site Safety Program and hold staff accountable for safety performance.
  • Manage all human resource activities for assigned site(s), including employee relations, human performance and productivity, performance management, and employment management, to include coaching and counseling.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Customer Relationship Skills - Ability to establish and maintain strategic customer relationships, and identify customer concerns and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Leadership Skills - Ability to identify and develop talent, mentor others to develop talent, and engage in employee coaching and counseling.
  • Communication Skills - Ability to communicate (written/verbally) effectively with Customer, Labor Relations, Managers, and Employees.
  • Financial Knowledge - Must possess business finance and risk management competencies, and understand contracts and the impact of decision-making on financial performance.
  • Process Improvement - Capable of following D&Z processes and procedures and coaching management on the utilization of developed tools to most effectively manage work. Can discern and implement process change management and improvement using industry recognized continuous improvement programs.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and other business software.

Qualifications:

  • Education - Associates degree in a relevant field or the completion of a journeyman program required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferrred.
  • Experience - 15+ years of relevant operations experience.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $96,000 - $210,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and other factors.

  • Capacity to reason and make sound decisions
  • Ability to wear a mask, respirator, bullet proof vest, or other equipment
  • Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company's office or work site
  • Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g., extreme heat or cold, grass, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, extreme noise, etc.)
  • Ability to successfully complete elements required to obtain unescorted access to Client facilities/plants (background screening, drug/alcohol screening, psychological screening, training, etc.)
