Evoke is seeking a Network/VOIP Engineer to join our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco VOIP systems and related network infrastructure.
  • Maintain and optimize performance of the VOIP infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate VOIP systems with other network services.
  • Manage the installation and configuration of network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and security, implementing enhancements as needed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on network and VOIP issues to internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to network configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and perform regular system upgrades.
  • Train staff on new technologies and assist in the development of training materials.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), and technologies.
  • Proficiency in network hardware and software, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Detailed understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and LAN/WAN systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.

Professional Experience and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, SCCP) and VOIP technologies.
  • Proficiency with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), and other Cisco communication platforms.
  • Experience with network security practices and network performance tuning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCVP are highly preferred.

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 0-2+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco VOIP systems.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.

Security Clearance

  • Applicants selected must be eligible to work in the United States, be subject to a government security investigation, and meet eligibility requirements for access to protected information.

Work Location

  • Washington, DC (on-site)
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours and participate in an on-call rotation may be required.
