Job Description

As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will help support our customers by purchasing materials from domestic and international sources, managing material delivery dates, and expediting to prevent material shortages.

You will be the manager of your categories and are expected to communicate effectively with supplier management and our internal stakeholders to ensure alignment. This alignment includes information flow, scheduling, documentation, processes, and procedures within our AS9100 management system.

You will be required to identify appropriate sources of supply in support of our operational demands and product development. This will include supplier identification, supplier relationship management (SRM), and negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Primary contact with suppliers and internal customers in the areas of supplier performance
  • Promptly communicate any material shortages or non-conformances and spearhead solutions to mitigate disruption to the production schedule.
  • Understand and maintain the ERP system to provide accurate information.
  • Manage assigned categories by communicating demand changes and forecasts to achieve optimum inventory levels.
  • Manage and analyze supplier OTD and keep in constant communication with suppliers to help improve delivery.
  • Manage invoice reconciliations and material replenishment agreements.
  • Coordinate RFP/RFQ process, soliciting formal product cost and availability to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Negotiate and manage purchase orders.
  • Develop supply base in accordance with our current and future needs.
  • Implement Kanban inventory management programs for our repetitive materials.
  • Participate in Manufacturing, Engineering, and Purchasing meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience within purchasing with general exposure to commercial terms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures and procurement terminology.
  • Knowledge of general inventory operating systems. SAP knowledge a plus.
