All About You

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, and service, seeks dynamic applicants who can engage and inspire a diverse student body as an adjunct instructor in the Music program of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts. This one-semester position ranges
from August 21-December 13, 2024 with the potential for renewal.

This position entails teaching:
1. one to two sections of Class Piano I and/or II (2-4 classroom hours per week)
and
2. Applied Music: Piano (one-on-one weekly lessons) to 2-10 students (.5 to 1 studio hours per week per student), contingent upon course enrollments, ranging from beginner to advanced piano performance majors

Adjunct Instructors are responsible for course planning, syllabus preparation, instruction, and working in a learning management system such as Canvas. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation, grading, and timely and accurate submission of required information related to instruction.


All instruction is in person.

Qualifications:
Candidates must:
* Hold at minimum a Master of Arts in Music or Master of Music degree
* Have at least two years of college teaching experience in applied piano and class piano
* Have an ability to deliver high-level music instruction to University students who range in ability from beginner to advanced piano performance majors.
* Have an ability to successfully prepare piano performance majors for degree recitals
