Job Description

The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a highly motivated individual to serves as program coordinator for the Neurosurgery Residency Program. The program coordinator provides support to the residency program director and to the residents in the Department of Neurosurgery to meet the educational and scholarship missions of the residency program.

Job Duties include:

Assisting the Program Director in planning and implementing changes in the educational curriculum for the residency program. Ensures that the residency program maintains compliance with ACGME, RRC, and specialty board requirements.

Maintains residency program records and evaluations; completes program reports in accordance with accreditation standards, tracks participant progress through the program for completion of requirements; coordinates information required for ongoing program recertification.

Coordinates the resident interview process including scheduling interview dates, corresponding with potential applicants, confirming meetings and appointments, and ensuring applicant credentials are following current guidelines.

Coordination of annual in-training examinations, including scheduling appropriate secure testing sites, ordering examinations, scheduling proctors, receiving materials, and returning materials to the appropriate specialty board.

Implements all required modules of the New Innovations residency management software, to include the management and reporting of data as well as user training for program faculty and residents. Is also responsible for collecting demographic information and updating and maintaining complete demographic information in New Innovations.

Prepares resident schedules, which includes didactic lecture series, grand rounds, calendar of events and department call schedule.

Assuring required Program Letters of Agreement and Affiliation Agreements are in place for all off-site rotations.

Prepares for, organizes, and participates in site visits, annual program updates, and program internal reviews, including arrangements for rooms, food service, and scheduling the site visitor meetings with faculty, residents, and administrative representatives.

Coordinates annual renewal of all licenses for residents. Monitor federal visa compliance for those residents on a J1 or H1b visas in the program. Coordinate the annual renewal of these visas.

Coordinates Department of Neurosurgery Grand Rounds lectures, including CME applications and reports, coordination of speaker travel and reimbursement of expenses.

Other duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.50 - $34.18 hourly
Grade: GGS - 008
