Summary:

Entry role focused on training and assisting operators. Under close supervision, performs routine tasks in Fabrication,

Paint and Assembly. Emphasis is on learning techniques. Must be able to perform minimum training requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepares parts for paint via washing or blasting.

2. Loads and unloads paint line.

3. Assists with paint shop maintenance.

4. Performs breakout and staging of laser cut parts.

5. Operates fabrication equipment under the direction of trained operators.

6. Assembles valves and associated products under the direction of trained operators.

7. Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.

8. Adheres to safety practices, 6S, and follows Fike policies and ISO9001.

Work Environment:

The employee is frequently exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to operate foot control while standing on one leg.

Job Qualifications:

REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and follow instructions, work orders, and engineered drawings. Must be able to obtain forklift certificate within 6 months of hire.

PREFERRED: Mechanical exposure or Vo-Tech training.
