Role Summary

The Senior Payroll Administrator will process payroll for one or more regional divisions and review wage and fringe rates for prevailing wage projects. This position will be responsible for reviewing and entering data from numerous sources, processing payroll, printing checks, and completing employment verifications. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

PAYROLL FAMILY - CORE

  • Reviews timesheet edit listings for time entered through the e-time entry function and enters corrections when needed.
  • Processes manual and voided checks; processes payroll and reviews pay registers; prints checks and prepares mailings.
  • Completes employment verifications and ensures that requests include the employee's authorization.
  • Scans documents to employees' electronic payroll personnel files.
  • Documents checklists for payroll functions.
  • Reviews new employee data and ensures that corrections are addressed.
  • Enters supplemental payments as needed, such as signing bonuses, travel per diems and relocation reimbursements.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the highest standards of customer satisfaction by displaying courtesy and sensitivity and responding promptly to customer needs.
  • Follows up on communication and appointments with internal and external customers.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

SENIOR PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR

In addition, this position will be responsible for the following:

  • Creates AP vouchers for the payment of child support and garnishments to various vendors and mails payments by the court ordered due date. Answers court-ordered child support and garnishment interrogatories by the due dates.
  • Reviews wage and fringe rates for prevailing wage projects to ensure compliance.
  • Provides employee wage information as requested by the state in compliance with unemployment laws.
  • Balances payroll for direct deposit from register to EFT report
  • Creates new employee profiles in payroll system as needed and updates records for existing employees related to direct deposit, child support, benefits, etc., as needed.
  • Forwards certified payrolls to project management as needed.
  • Files workers compensation (OCIP) monthly reports as requested.
  • Assigns payroll codes to projects and coordinates set up of new codes as needed.
  • Processes labor transfers and adjustments as requested.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations promptly and efficiently.
  • Steps forward to address difficult issues.

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 2 year / Associate's Degree (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Experience
  • 5+ years payroll experience (Preferred)
