As Product Owner for the Data & AI team, you will manage the team's product backlog and optimize the development team's work value. Success will be evident in story conversion to user experience, highest-value delivery of functional and technical specifications, and the reduction of post-delivery incidents. You'll ensure alignment/tracking with investment and capacity decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Coordinate leadership across the business and IT oversight to ensure Data & AI product activity is visible, transparent, and clear to all stakeholders
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand processes, roadmaps and features to support functions such data integration, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and data analytics/business intelligence. Translate roadmaps and features into user stories
  • Track investment, budget and capacity details and make recommendations on changes based on business value opportunities
  • Lead activities related to agile software development methodologies, including sprint planning, scrums, backlog grooming and defect management
  • Manage user acceptance criteria, validation processes, and user/system documentation
  • Analyze requirements for data & AI system functions in collaboration with several departments
  • Coordinate input and final agreement on business impact metrics from critical system incidents
  • Apply lean tools and thinking to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position

You Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field preferred, but candidates with degrees in other disciplines and substantial relevant experience in data & AI.
  • Relevant Professional certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional(CBAP), IBM Data Science (Professional Certificate) are a plus.
  • At 3+ years of practical experience in a role focused on data & AI, with a proven track record of collaboration across IT and business departments to drive data-driven projects and initiatives.
  • Solid experience in agile development environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives, with a strong ability to translate business needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to tackle problems systematically to diagnose issues and produce effective recommendations.

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

  • 3+ years of experience working in as part of a data & AI team
  • Familiarity with information architecture and creative disciplines
  • Experience with requirement/test/project management solutions

ROLE SPECIFICS

  • Salary Grade: S17
  • Occasional overnight travel. Ability to travel without restriction by all modes of transportation
