  • Bachelor's degree in a related field to assigned area
  • 6 years academic, career or technical management experience
  • Valid Driver's License Required

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Three (3)years of broad full-time, directly- related experience in a senior level position for a large and complex organization with demonstrated success in facility administration.
  • Leadership experience in a community college environment
  • Experience working with a diverse population
  • Experience with tactical implementation of a strategic plan
  • Experience using data to inform decision-making
  • Experience with budget development and execution within a facility maintenance organization
  • Experience with developing vendor relationships to support maintenance and custodial operations

Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.
Compensation Salary Range is $85,072 - $92,729 annual. A competitive benefit package is included. Special Instructions to Applicants

Class Summary
Incumbent works in an administrative management role at district level for multiple programs, departments, or functional areas, and provides key information, direction and recommendation for decision-making in the facility maintenance, custodial, and grounds maintenance programs.
Typical Essential Duties
  • Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Oversees the effective operation of the facility maintenance, custodial, and grounds maintenance programs within the Facility Services department.
  • Develops and implements plans and strategies to accomplish goals for an assigned function or department; work may involve planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; working to integrate and coordinate service areas; and/or collaborating with Councils and Committees to facilitate the development of strategic plans and make recommendations.
  • Administers assigned budgets; approves expenditures; reviews financial statements; manages financial operations of contract and project work.
  • Develops and recommends revisions to District policies, procedures, guidelines, or standards; directs and reviews a variety of reports, reconciliations, grants, work papers, promotional efforts, communications, schedules, tables, and/or statements to and from internal departments, financial institutions, governmental entities, and external agencies.
  • Seeks and manages collaborative efforts with business and industry, community agencies, donors and alumni, educational institutions, internal departments, and/or other interested parties to solicit funds, and facilitate grant and other departmental operations.
  • Collects and analyzes a variety of complex data and information; performs statistical analysis and summarizes findings in applicable reports or other communication mediums.
  • Serves as a liaison with other departments and campus leadership within the College in order to provide information on available resources, programs, and/or services.
  • Incumbent may be required to assume the duties of the Chief Facilities Officer in times of absence.
  • Oversees contract projects, coordinates with the procurement department, and manages individual and collective contract budgets.
  • Works with the Chief Facilities Officer to create and maintain a 5-year capital renewal plan and ensuring the plan captures the vision and goals of the College.
  • In coordination with the Chief Facilities Officer, incumbent authors board action items that relate to the purchases and operations of the Facility Services department. Develops and manages the district's preventative, scheduled, and corrective maintenance programs and execution.

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: feeling, grasping, hearing, fingering, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.

Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous physical conditions, such as, mechanical parts, electrical currents, and vibrations; atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, gases, and poor ventilation; hazardous materials, such as chemicals, blood, and other bodily fluids; extreme temperatures; inadequate lighting; work space-related movement restrictions; intense noise; other environmental conditions, such as, challenging behaviors, imminent danger, and threatening environment
