Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise the activities of the pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with all professional rules and standards of pharmacy practice.
  • Monitor/maintain inventory control of both prescription and over the counter medications.
  • Understand the use of available drug information resources and accurately responds to drug information inquiries from patients and other health care providers.
  • Advises and assists patients and physicians on appropriate generic product selection and substitution, including maintaining compliance with third party formulary plans and restrictions.
  • Interprets, inputs, fills, and labels prescriptions and drug orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Counsels patients about the selection, storage, and use of medications, nutritional supplements, and other health care products.
  • Accurately weighs, measures, and mixes compounded medications, and correctly uses pharmaceutical equipment and techniques.
  • Provide great customer service, ensuring each and all customers are at a minimum satisfies with the pharmacy service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of medication therapy management, drug interactions, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.
  • Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in using pharmacy information system(s) and clinical decision support systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • B.S. or PharmD degree from ACPE accredited institution
  • Valid Pharmacist license in good standing with appropriate board of pharmacy - new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Certificate of Immunization (ability to immunize patients)
  • MTS certification (if not upon hire, within 90 days of hire)

  • None

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, and abuse/neglect.
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
  • All training requirements including Relias Learning at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
  • Clear TB/ CDS if required by program
