Job Description
Position Title: Medical Claims Examiner
Wage: $16-$17/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 9am-5:30pm Monday-Friday
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Medical Claims Examiner at a great company in the Springfield area. This is an associate to hire opportunity.
Medical Claims Examiner Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure the member's insurance policy benefits are processed accurately and timely
- Review each claim to determine the appropriate course of action based on the nature of a member's illness or injury
Medical Claims Examiner Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of related experience preferred
- Understand multiple medical insurance products and multiple levels of benefits within each product to make accurate claim processing decisions
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with ability to manage time and prioritize workload effectively
- Strong keyboarding skills with above average accuracy
- 10-key by touch skills with above average accuracy
- Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices helpful
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT & HCPC code sets helpful
- Above basic computer skills with Windows PC systems and applications
- Above basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Work independently in a solitary manner for long periods of time
- Extended periods of sitting at a computer and repetitive use of hands/fingers
- Office environment
