Job Description

Are you ready to be the ultimate bridge-builder between Missouri University of Science and Technology (S&T) and K-12 school districts? As our Program Director for K-12 School District Outreach, you'll take the lead in introducing the wonders of S&T to inquisitive minds. Your mission? To cultivate inquiry, application, and a whole lot of S&T love within these districts. You'll be the driving force behind boosting awareness, district, teacher and student engagement, as well as applications, and enrollments within your designated areas.

Reporting to the Senior Director for the Kummer Center for STEM Education and the Vice Provost of Enrollment Management, you'll embark on a journey filled with an exciting and unique opportunity to make a difference in students' lives.

2. Mastermind of Activities: Plan, develop, and oversee outreach activities tailored to specific districts and student populations. Weave your magic by promoting programs and recruiting students through networking with local school and community groups.

3. Collaboration Conductor: Actively collaborate with high school educators in Missouri and nationally, including counselors, teachers, superintendents, and principals. Focus on those specializing in STEM education and hands-on learning to create synergies that elevate both the instructional needs of the district, and the S&T experience.

4. High School Coordinator Extraordinaire: Interact closely and coordinate with the university's Enrollment Management and Outreach programs. Coordinate and manage in-person and remote presentations aimed at high school juniors and seniors to inform and attract potential students.

5. AP/IB Aficionado: Have a thorough understanding of Advanced Placement (AP) and/or IB courses, including instruction methods used in high schools. Bring a comprehensive knowledge of college/high school dual enrollment and concurrent course programs to the table.

6. STEM Savvy: Possess experience in or knowledge of high school-level programs in fields such as robotics, automotive design, computer machining, and additive manufacturing.

7. Influencer Liaison: Facilitate and organize visits to high schools by university faculty, members of the "Army of Champions," and other influential groups or individuals.

8. Master Collaborator: Collaborate with university extension programs, campus organizations, fraternities, sororities, faculty advisors, and presidents. Plan and execute high school visitations and engagement activities.
