Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Haul plant feed to crusher, Monitor condition of haul roads. Complete pre-shift inspections. Maintain Safe Speeds.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Complete pre-shift inspections report and submit to mine supervisor
  • Fill out diesel usage log and submit to mine supervisor
  • Lubricate haul truck
  • Maintain all haul truck fluid levels
  • Maintain haul truck tire pressure
  • Assist maintenance team members as directed
  • Attend safety meetings
  • Enforce company, local, state and federal safety policies and procedures * Maintain Company and Federal House Keeping Standards
  • Implement all elements of the quality manual
  • Maintain the validity of all documentation affecting the positions listed above
  • Maintain the validity of all procedures affecting the positions listed above
  • Provide on-the-job training, as assigned:To be backed up by other truck drivers and other qualified personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Fulfill all requirements and possess a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License
  • Self-motivated and must be able to work independently
  • Intimate working knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to operation of vehicles, specifically heavy trucks requiring a Commercial Driver's License
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of over the road heavy truck operation and safety requirements
  • Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed
  • Must be capable of working with personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Must have good written and verbal communicate skills
  • Demonstrated skills heavy equipment operation a plus, but minimum as demonstrated for an over the road haul truck
  • History of safe operation of vehicle as demonstrated on driving record
  • Strong record of attendance reliability
  • Safety Oriented with the ability to work well within a team environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust
  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
  • Will be working in both an covered environment and in a mining environment
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting
  • Able to lift over 50 pounds

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Technical training or AA degree in technical related field is desired. Valid CDL Class A or Class B license preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Previous heavy manufacturing, construction, and/or mining experience is highly preferred. The ability and willingness to work any shift, be on call, overtime, and weekends. Ability to work within a team environment. Good attendance and safe working habits are required. Ability to multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet customer needs. Previous heavy equipment experience (2-3 years).

For this position, being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
