UH Behavioral Health is the KC metro area's largest, most comprehensive provider of mental health services. We also offer psychiatric inpatient care, and we deliver therapeutic services through our community outreach clinics. The Advance Practice Specialty Nurse- GI is a registered nurse who provides an advanced level of care in collaboration with specialty physicians and other members of the health care team to a specific patient population. Maintains an advanced knowledge base and skill in the assessment and treatment of GI dysfunction and disease and management of health/illness in the care of of GI involved patients. May perform specific diagnostic and/or interventional procedures under the supervision of the physician.
Minimum Requirements:
Master of Science in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing
Maintain current licensed as a registered professional nurse in Missouri
Graduation and certification for Nurse Practitioner program; must maintain active certification
Certification in specialty as approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing for Advanced Practice may be required.
Holds current Collaborative Practice Arrangement with the organization as a provider
Current BCLS verification
Demonstrates clinical expertise in area of specialty practice
Demonstrates leadership ability
3-5 years clinical experience
Demonstrates clinical expertise in GI.
Preferred:
3-5 years clinical GI experience.
Advanced education in the diagnosis and management of patients with diseases of GI.
