Master's degree in Psychology; OR

Master's degree in any field with at least 18 GCH in a combination of the qualifying fields of:
  • Psychology (all)
  • Counseling
  • Behavioral Studies
  • Human Development
  • Psychiatry
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community.
  • Demonstrated experience with current pedagogical and instructional methods.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to teach introduction to psychology and lifespan development courses.
  • Experience with asynchronous online, synchronous virtual, and/or hybrid teaching in psychology.


Work Hours
Not a remote work position. MCC-Online offices are located at MCC-Penn Valley.
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; may be required to work different assignments to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.
Compensation Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Special Instructions to Applicants

-This is not a remote work position. MCC-Online offices are located at MCC-Penn Valley.
-This position is contingent on budget-appropriated funding. Position available Fall 2024 unless otherwise approved.

Official or student copies of your transcripts are required at the time of application. Official transcripts are required if selected for interview. Candidates who are currently completing the specified degree or requirements must submit documentation that all requirements, including conferral of degree, will be met by June 30, 2024

Preferred Areas of Expertise:
  • Classroom teaching experience in a college setting
  • Experience with student assessment
  • Experience with curriculum design
  • Experience with classroom technology and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using assessment techniques to promote teaching and learning excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies.
  • Experience in community college teaching preferred.
