All About You

Under general supervision, serves as the primary administrative contact and provides support and direction to assigned areas. Develops and implements programs that align with the department's mission and goals. Designs and implements travel programs for assigned sports and engages in budget tracking and decision making for team travel. Manages the departmental ordering process as well as reconciles all assigned team expenses. Assists with significant NCAA compliance paperwork including student-athlete official visit paperwork.

Job Responsibilities

  • Exercises their professional judgment and discretion on the optimum arrangements for travel to and from athletic events that balances costs to the University, student academic and athletic success and safety and well-being of all traveling

  • Implements athletic department policies and operating practices

  • Creates program materials, and ensures that program achieves stated objectives

  • May be responsible for special events pertaining to the department

  • Negotiates rates as well as handles and resolves scheduling conflicts with transportation companies

  • Greets all visitors, students, faculty/staff upon entering the office; organizes & schedules meetings and appointments for assigned areas

  • Processes purchase orders for assigned sports and manages the departmental ordering process; plans for future expenses

  • Handles several business office functions including review and approval of assigned expense reports

  • Assists with NCAA compliance processes including approving and managing official visit paperwork

  • Develops and maintains filing system, orders office supplies, initiates requisitions to replenish and receives/distributes mail

  • Places work orders with Facilities, Information Technologies, Auxiliary Services and other campus offices

  • Works with coaches and staff on University communication

  • Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner

  • Excellent communication and decision making skills required for working with diverse groups

  • Strong written communication skills; excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated appreciation for diversity and inclusion

Minimum Qualifications -An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)

Bachelor's degree required supplemented with two (2) years of related experience.
