Job Description

The Operations Quality Assurance Manager will lead the Operations Quality team in Monett, MO. This is a key role leading the team responsible for the development and deployment of quality assurance plans to ensure the production of products consistent with design and established quality standards. The Ops QA Manger will report to the AFS Quality Director.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Operations Quality team in Monett, MO
  • Oversee the development and deployment of quality assurance plans for the products and processes produced in the AFS sites in MO
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action activities for product/process defects for the AFS MO sites
  • Work with the customer facing Quality organization to ensure customer quality issues are effectively addressed in the operations quality assurance plans
  • Partner with the AFS Supplier Quality Lead to support inspection and containment activities related to purchased materials.
  • Reporting and analysis of operations quality data.
  • Partner with AFS QMS lead to deploy a Quality Management System
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team
  • Work with peers in improving AFS wide processes and issue resolution

Team Member Development

  • Work with direct reports and the Director of Quality in team member development to ensure future support capability
  • Develops and completes training programs for team members including appropriate tools and quality training guides/ resources

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a quality assurance role or technical field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role
  • Working knowledge of quality management tools such as root cause analysis
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • PC skills to include ERP system, MS Office
  • Familiarity with Lean/Continuous Improvement concepts

Physical Demands

  • Light-typical of an office environment or light industrial
  • Required to sit, stand and move about the facility to review key operational areas
  • Occasional lifting required

Work Environment

  • 75% exposure to the production environment (heat, operating machinery and noise). Office duties require sitting behind a desk, performing tasks on a computer. Position involves some travel. No significant physical exertion required.
