POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, analyze financial information, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Review, analyze and reconcile expense and balance sheet accounts, inventory, and sales transactions. Drive financial reporting through preparation of various journal entries and reports with an emphasis on recurring revenue, cost of sales, and inventory. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: *Actively participate in the monthly closing process including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, variance analysis, and management reporting while ensuring adherence to the Company's internal controls and corporate policies. *Compile, identify and analyze financial trends and communicate findings to management through generation of meaningful reports. *Maintain key sub-ledgers including inventory, accounts receivable and prepaids. *Review and reconcile production records, inventory adjustments and inventory related purchases. *Assist the Senior Accounting Manager in identifying and implementing improvements to the cash management process, including the effective collection of receivables. *Participate in a cross functional team with IT, Finance, Manufacturing and Quality for the implementation of new production and inventory management software, recommending key improvements to drive efficiencies in the collection of accurate inventory costs. *Support the SEC reporting process with preparation of key schedules and provide audit support as needed. *Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasting, and long-term business projections.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS: *Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA qualification a plus. *Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or operations, preferably in a manufacturing industry. Prior cost accounting experience preferred. *Strong communication and presentation skills; Comfortable interacting with a variety of personnel. *Flexible, proactive, and detail oriented with a solid understanding of accounting processes. *Advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Excel. *Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains or similar accounting software a plus.
