Job Description

The Salvation Army Midland Division Camp Mihaska located in Bourbon, Missouri, is looking for 4 Dining/Dish Room Attendants. We are looking for individuals age 16 or older to fill this position. This is a full-time, temporary summer position that will start on June 03, 2024 and will end July 31, 2023. The pay is $250 per week.

Job Objective

This position performs a variety of dining room and kitchen duties as directed.

Essential Functions

  • Set up and prepare the dining room prior to each meal.
  • Serve meals efficiently and courteously.
  • Wash tables, sweep and mop the floor after each meal as assigned
  • Operate in dish room and trash removal as assigned.
  • Assist in the kitchen as assigned.
  • Report problems with staff and campers to the lead cook.
  • Adhere to and enforce camp policies and procedures.
  • Be present at all meetings and programs unless otherwise directed.
  • Work all camp rec rotations as assigned.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional attitude towards campers and staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Comply with The Salvation Army Safe From Harm guidelines.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors and clients; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and self-starter able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Understand and support the goals and objectives of The Salvation Army Camp program.

Physical and Working Conditions

Capable of participating in camp activities. Frequently lifts 25 pounds, occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and moves 50 or more pounds using dolly/cart/truck. Some work will be outdoors, and it will be hot in the summer.
