Summary
Are you interested in advancing health equity and having a global impact? The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP) College of Global Population Health, the first of its kind in the US, has a vision to transform the health outcomes of populations near and far to create a more equitable future for all. The University recently received accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission for its fully online, asynchronous Master of Public Health with concentrations in epidemiology and general public health. The MPH at UHSP is one of the most affordable in the country across private institutions and has plans to be CEPH accredited in the near future.

We are seeking a 12-month tenure track/tenured public health faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with teaching (50%) and research (20%) responsibilities, and 30% service. Those with a background in epidemiology or biostatistics are especially encouraged to apply. The anticipated start date would be late Spring or early Summer 2024 and remote/hybrid work arrangements are possible. Salary is competitive with CEPH accredited programs, along with a generous benefits package. Applicants are encouraged to submit by February 1st for preferred consideration.
  • Teaching: The chosen candidate will be responsible for instructing up to four courses annually, with a primary emphasis on creating new online public health courses at the graduate level. This will be completed in collaboration with an instructional design team. The candidate may also teach some undergraduate courses.
  • Research: the chosen candidate should engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research that contributes towards the advancement of health equity. Prior experience securing extramural funding is preferred.
  • The remainder will be for service (30%), including serving as the Master of Public Health (MPH) Program Director focused on curriculum development, assessment and accreditation. The MPH Program Director will also work collaboratively with other university units, from admissions to marketing, to launch the degree. Other service responsibilities include that to the College, University, and to the broader community locally and globally.


Qualifications
Preferred qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree in public health or population health related field with preference for a background in epidemiology or biostatistics
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills including collaboration, communication, and project management Familiarity with CEPH accreditation standards
  • Experience in designing and developing online asynchronous courses, demonstrating an understanding of adult learning principles and effective pedagogical methods.
  • Experience with teaching online in learning management systems (LMS).
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment, incorporating feedback and making necessary adjustments to provide excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Interdisciplinary research experience, locally and/or globally
  • Entrepreneurial approach with an initiative-driven growth mindset
  • Champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Dedication to student career development, advising, and the online student experience
