A new position is available as a Research Engineering Technician II, and this position contributes to the effectiveness of the research and teaching laboratories of the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CArEE) through direct operation, maintenance, use, and care of research equipment, instruments, tools, and machinery, or in assistance to or training others in the same.
Responsibilities include interacting and collaborating with faculty, students, and external parties to support research, experimentation, and instruction; and devising or recommending technical solutions and enforcing safety and operating protocols, rules, and guidelines.
The successful candidate will oversee scheduling and supervision of multiple research assistants in laboratory operations and equipment use, as well as assist in setting up teaching laboratory activities and overseeing some aspects of student activities. Advanced training will be offered for the successful candidate to advance their abilities and the collective capabilities of the research team in the CArEE Department.
