RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

• Assist blaster with daily production blasting as primary responsibility
• Pursue and receive blasters license between 1-2 years from start of position if newly receiving handlers license or within 1st year of position if already licensed TN handler
• Operate scaler, bolter, drill, primary crusher, haul truck, loader, water truck as secondary/as-needed
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in mine area and individual equipment
• Complete work place exams and pre shift equipment checklists documents
• Communicate issues to the Mine Supervisor/Crew Leadman
• Perform or assist with maintenance tasks as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines
• Strong sense of urgency in meeting mine needs
• Good understanding of safety and the desire to following all established procedures are required
• Must obtain Blasters license within two years

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be physically capable of performing all required duties
• Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust
• Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
• The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles
• The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

For this position, being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
