Your Opportunity

Supervises all non-administration production support departments including but not limited to: pyramid service management, transportation, feed haul contractors, live haul contractors, maintenance contractors.

Core Responsibilities
    Responsible to lead improvement that will result in improved profitability
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates support activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished.
  • Leads efforts to ensure alignment & implementation with all management systems.
  • Ensures implementation of continuous improvement procedures to develop company staff.
  • Provide Training and information from various sources to increase knowledge and development staff.
  • Work with Support groups, Pig Flow scheduling, feed mill, supply, accounting, and Human Resources on a professional level, utilizing them to improve systems.
  • Ensures implementation and support to various certification initiatives that exist in SHP business, including but not limited: Production, Biosecurity, environmental, SIPS and others that apply.
  • Manages financial performance by controlling costs, budgeting, business, and financial planning, and tracking financial activity via P&L review.
  • Ensures all equipment, machinery and vehicles are accounted for and properly maintained.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of safety
  • Responsible for complying with all environmental laws and procedures.
  • Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor
  • Must be on call to work in emergency situations to include but not limited to, power outages or personnel shortages

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel computer programs required.
  • Must have excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to seek counsel and problem solve using teammates and associates.
  • Have and understanding of work experience using continuous improvement procedures.
  • Ability to develop and implement work plans that are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Have an understanding of work experience using continuous improvement procedures.
  • Mus be able to foster teamwork and cultural diversity in a team situation
  • Proven Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft office package and internet systems.
  • Must be available for occasional travel
  • Must be available to work nights and weekend when necessary
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides leadership and guidance to personnel within their department with Manager oversight

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This position consists of a combination of inside and outside work.
  • Inside conditions include office and farm environments, therefore must be able to tolerate blood, animal dander, manure, dust, odors, and noisy conditions associated with normal swine production activities. Outside conditions include various seasonal conditions including but not limited to extreme cold or hot temperatures.
  • Job will require travel to a variety of company locations.
